Description
Hand-coloured and painted leaded stained glass panel of Somerset apples with blue background, suitable for house or garden. It is fully waterproof and has integral hooks on the back should you wish to hang it in the window or on the wall.
This piece was inspired by the cider apple tree in my garden, absolutely full of apples in September! It is my unique design, using the branching effect of the lead as part of the picture.
This was the process I followed… I started with one rectangle of clear glass, cut it into 4 sections and coloured the background using Light Cyan glass powder … then first firing. I then added background colour to the apples and the leaves with enamel glass paint and fired it again – twice, as I wasn’t quite happy with the depth of colour the first time. Then I added the black outlining, again with glass enamel paint – and yes, fired it again. Finally, I leaded the panel, soldered the joints, cemented it and added hooks.

As a fragile item, you may have concerns about whether it will be safe to order online. I like to put tissue directly round my pieces for customers to enjoy the moment of opening their purchase and am happy to include personalised gift tags if required. The rest of the packaging is generally recycled packaging that will be used to ensure that the piece arrives in one piece.
